Carried out in Partnership with GVA Grimley, Ecorys and AECOM, this Strategic Regeneration Framework aimed to:

  • Create a vision to improve the environment for people living and working in the area
  • Maximise the potential for economic growth
  • To develop more cohesive communities with better access to local facilities.

The study looked at the Primary Road Network, the Bus Network, Midland Metro, Heavy Rail, Car Parking and pedestrians. The study identified sites for economic growth; new housing and improved safer transport looked at preserving heritage buildings.

Improving shop fronts, pavements, litter facilities, pedestrian/cyclist movement and neighbourhood legibility formed part of the proposals in the final document as did the impact of removing Hockley Flyover.
