Last week, our Landscape Associate Director, Andre, visited the Granville Road site in Telford – and we couldn’t be more thrilled by the progress! Lovell are doing an exceptional job on this project. As one of our first developments designed to achieve Biodiversity Net Gain, the scheme adopts a thoughtful and ecologically sensitive approach, seamlessly blending the new community with Granville Country Park.
Our landscape strategy focuses on protecting, retaining, and enhancing existing habitats, reinforcing connectivity and creating new spaces for both wildlife and people. The site will offer a variety of open spaces, including ‘Village Greens’ and ‘Pocket Parks’, that encourage community interaction and informal sports while also providing areas for relaxation and social events.
The scheme also prioritises well-being, with new therapeutic gardens and outdoor spaces for the Extra Care and Dementia Care facilities. These spaces are designed to promote interaction with nature, offering a soothing environment where residents can garden or simply enjoy the beauty of the flowers and landscape.
Additionally, tree-lined boulevards and paths will create attractive gateways into the development and connect all the key outdoor areas, fostering movement through the site while ensuring a harmonious balance with the wild and natural surroundings.
We are incredibly proud to see our vision coming to life, and we look forward to watching this development grow and mature over time. A huge congratulations to Lovell, The Wrekin Housing Group, and everyone involved in making this project a reality!
