The masterplan for this project consists of 500 mixed tenure, tenure blind 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom family homes and apartments designed to HQI, Lifetime Homes and CfSH Level 4. The masterplan is to be delivered over 11 build phases through to completion in 2015. At the heart of the development is a new neighbourhood park featuring children’s play facilities, a MUGA and a Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SUDs) balancing pond.
The contemporary 2 and 3 storey dwellings are designed using a mix of brick, render and terracotta blocks that create a distinctive appearance whilst connecting to the local context. The scheme also achieves the Building for Life Silver Standard by incorporating the principals of the Urban Design Compendium and Places for Living in all aspects of the design.
A number of Community consultation events have been run by BM3 Architecture and the proposals have also been presented to Local Ward Members.
